Travancore Devaswom Board
Sasthamcotta Shri Dharmasastha temple is a major temple under the Travancore Devaswom Board. Its immediate administrative control rests with the Karunagapally Devaswom Asst.Commissioner’s office. There is a Sub-group Officer at Sasthamcotta to supervise the day-today administration of the temple.

Temple Organisation

• Tantri

The hereditary Tantris of the temple are from ‘Keezhthamarassery Madom’ and ‘Mudippilappally Madom’ of Kunnathur. Presently the Tantris of Sasthamcotta temple are: Brahmashri.Ramesh Bhattathiri from Keezhthamarassery Madom and Brahmashri. Vasudevararu Bhattathiri from Mudippilappally Madom.

• Melsanthi (Chief Priest)

The melsanthi of the temple is from ‘Puthusseri Madom’ of Sasthamcotta, it being the hereditary right (Karanma) of the family.
